My niece, Eryn, has recently had a fascination with pink. She chooses to wear pink most of the time. And at age 3 ( well almost ), she is beginning to want to look pretty, a phase all little girls go through. So, I offered to paint her nails in pink, and boy was she excited about it. That night as I promised to paint her nails after dinner, she found me in my room and immediately came in and jumped on my bed, all ready with her feet up ! She was so happy with it, that she kept checking her pink toe nail after that.
Her mum tells me that the whole week after, she will check whether colors came off after every shower. When i saw her again the following, she just asked me to do her nails again
. So being a little lazy, I wanted to just paint over the old layer, but she said ” No, you have to remove the old color first ! “. Talking about being 3 years old and being vain! I think she just enjoyed the cool feeling of the nail polish remover….haha. So, ok, I removed them and painted new color. And then, she says ” Auntie Ming, I will paint for you after this OK ? “. I told her, no need to, but she insisted saying ” No, I want! You have to look pretty too ! “. I was taken aback about that comment, but then realised that I am now her favourite aunt and wanted me to look pretty like her. I did let her paint my nails, though it was a horrid mess, but definitely appreciated the thoughtfulness of this little girl.
